Mysterious Uber Eats Deliveries Baffle LA Neighborhood

Residents of a Los Angeles neighborhood have been left baffled by an influx of mystery Uber Eats deliveries arriving at their doors.[0] Since late February, several times a day and at all hours, unwanted food deliveries including coffee drinks, sandwiches and pastries have been arriving, with no one in the community having placed an order for them.[1]

A spokesman for Uber has stated that the company has launched an investigation and has taken action against a number of accounts. The deliveries are said to have begun on the 4900 block of Range View Avenue in Highland Park, with the majority being meals from McDonalds, Taco Bell and Starbucks.[2]

When asked how he felt about the sandwiches, one resident replied that they now “haunt my dreams”.[2] Residents have tried calling the phone numbers attached to the orders, however the numbers were disconnected.[2]

The community has expressed gratitude to the delivery service for including tips for the delivery people with each of the orders. It remains a mystery as to why these unwanted deliveries are occurring, and Uber is continuing their investigation into the source of the orders.
