Cosori Air Fryer Models Recalled Over Fire and Burn Hazards

Cosori, a well-known air fryer brand, is recalling certain models of their product due to the potential for fire and burn hazards On Thursday, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a recall notice regarding around 2 million Cosori air fryers across the US, Canada and Mexico and said people should immediately stop using the affected models The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported 205 cases of air fryers catching fire, melting and overheating, 10 of which resulted in minor, superficial burns[0] 23 reports document cases of property damage[1]

The models affected by the recall are CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXW, CP158-AF, CP158-AF-RXR (Red), CP158-AF-RXW (White), CP158-AF-R19, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-R19 and CS158-AF-RXB (Black), and CAF-P581-AUSR and CAF-P581S-AUSR (Light Gray) The air fryers were sold from June 2018 through December 2022 for between $70 and $130 at Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot stores nationwide, and online at Amazon, Adorama, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cosori, eBay, Home Goods, Kohls, Lowes, Macys, QVC, Staples, VeSync, Walmart, Wayfair, Wellbots, and Woot![2]

The source of the problem is a wire connection in the air fryers that can overheat, said the CPSC[3] “We are recalling certain air fryers out of an abundance of caution, it said in a press statement COSORI is committed to the safety of those who use and love our products, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience[4]

Consumers should contact Cosori at recallcosoricom to receive a free replacement air fryer or another product[5] Customers must send a photo of the recalled product but do not need a receipt to be eligible[6] Folks who bought one of the recalled devices can visit the website or email CosoriRecall@Sedgwickcom to start the recall process[7] Users aren’t being issued refunds, but the company has promised to replace the airfryer with another Cosori device[7]
